DIY Leaf Art for Kids: An Easy Autumn Craft

DIY Leaf Art for Kids: An Easy Autumn Craft

Fall is full of little opportunities to get creative with your kids. With a piece of cardboard, a few leaves, and a little imagination, you can turn an ordinary afternoon into a simple autumn activity.

Leaf art is an easy, budget-friendly craft that uses items you likely already have at home. It’s a lovely way to get outside, explore the changing season, and let your little ones create something entirely their own.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • A piece of recycled cardboard
  • A marker
  • A pair of scissors or a hole-poking tool (for adult use)
  • Fallen leaves in different shapes, sizes, and colors

STEPS:

  1. Create your canvas with a piece of cardboard cut to the size you'd like
  2. Poke holes along the top of the head, big enough for the stems of leaves to fit through
  3. Head outside to collect leaves
  4. Add your leaves by poking them through the holes
  5. Admire your artwork!

The best part of this activity is that there’s no right or wrong way to do it, and that’s part of the fun!
