Here at Motherlove, we are often asked for samples of our best-selling lactation supplements. We wanted to take a moment to explain why Motherlove has not created a supplement Sample Program. When taking one of our blends, women often see results in as little as 1-3 days. If a mama were to take a sample packet that only lasted a few days or a week and then stopped the doses and went ‘cold turkey’, her supply could drop. Of course, we don’t want that to happen, thus resulting in Motherlove not offering sample packets of supplements. This possible reaction is one of the reasons we suggest “weaning” when stopping a breastfeeding supplement like More Milk Plus or More Milk Special Blend.
Speaking of weaning, we know many mothers who have taken our supplements the entire time they breastfeed but we also know many women who have successfully weaned themselves off of the products. Both of these are perfectly fine. If you'd like to stop taking the product, we always recommend that you wean yourself off slowly and watch for any changes. For example, if you are taking 3 doses per day and have an adequate milk supply, remove 1 dose per day. Continue taking just 2 doses per day and keep an eye on your supply. If it is still adequate, remove another dose and watch for a couple of days. If your milk supply stays at a good level, then you can safely stop taking the product. However, if you remove a dose and see a dip in your supply, we recommend adding the dose back in and staying at that level. If you stop taking your doses all at once, there is a risk that your supply will drop suddenly and it is more difficult to increase it again after that.

If you are experiencing any issues with breastfeeding, we recommend working with an IBCLC. There can be underlying issues causing a low milk supply that cannot be mended with supplements that support breast milk supply.
