Calendula
Calendula officinalis

Why We Love It:
Calendula, also referred to as pot marigold, is one of the best all-purpose skin-soothing herbs and is commonly used in many skin care products. The flower has been traditionally used to soften skin and to help soothe chapped and irritated skin.
Calendula has been known to be a generally safe plant to use on the skin, however, allergic reactions to the plant can occur.
What It Looks Like:
Calendula is an easily planted, annual-blooming marigold with orange and yellow flowers and alternate leaves. The unusual curlicue seedpods easily reseed themselves for the new growing season. Its beautiful bright flowers are primarily harvested when the flower heads are fully opened.
