Why We Love It:
Cinnamon is a popular and well-known spice. Like many of the other aromatic spices we use today, cinnamon bark was used as a food preservative before refrigeration was common. It is considered a warming herb with a variety of uses other than just oatmeal raisin cookies.
What It Looks Like:
Cinnamon is the orange-brown inner bark from a rather tall evergreen tree that grows in tropical areas.
