Why We Love It:
The daughter of our founder (now CEO) grew up on the edge of a beautiful mountain meadow filled with wildflowers. Prairie Sage grew everywhere around her home. It would grow in clumps in the meadow, cracks in the rocks, and cover a hillside with its soft, frilly, silvery tops. When she was young, she would gather a few sprigs and gently brush them across her face. She loved the earthy smell. Surrounded by ponderosa pines, the sweet grounding beauty always made her feel at home.
What It Looks Like:
Prairie sage, fringed sagebrush, and pasture sage are all names for this plant; however, Artimesia fridgida is not actually a sage. It is a perennial that grows in dry areas in both fields and wooded areas in the western US.
