Why We Love It:

Shatavari root is native to the rocky surfaces of the Himalayas and has long been used as an Ayurvedic tonic It is known as the Queen of Herbs and is believed to promote vitality for women. Of course, no plant can guarantee a long life, but the herb has been recognized to be beneficial for the female body.

Motherlove’s Shatavari supplement is used for both lactation support and feminine reproductive health. The shatavari herb has been known to help regulate menstrual cycles, promote balanced hormones, and support breast milk production.

Though shatavari root has not been known to cause ill-effects, we always recommend speaking with your healthcare provider before taking any supplements formulated for use during pregnancy

What It Looks Like:

The shatavari plant is very distinguishable with its narrow, shiny leaves. The leaves will typically grow out from the stem, appearing almost needle-like. The plant produces small, white flowers and occasionally dark purple berries. The large plump roots are commonly harvested and used.
